But we believe they will love the grown-up feeling of this play table so much, they'll sit quietly and create something wonderful. The sturdy solid wood frame of the children's table stands up to all types of kid-style chaos. Routed edges even keep crayons corralled, which makes cleanup easier. Table arrives with two sets of legs: short and tall. The short legs set the height of the table at 18 inches, similar to a train table and great for toddlers (short legs not meant for use with chairs). The tall legs elevate the table to a height of 23 inches and accommodate chairs underneath. Get more from your table by adding optional chairs (2 or 4), and a toy storage bin on casters. Look for other matching products, too. Some assembly required. Perfect for bedroom, play room, family room or great room.

Very Disappointed

This table is sturdy and heavy and the chairs are of good quality as well. I was so excited to get this table and chair set to be used by my 18 month old grandson. I loved that it came with two sets of legs so that it could be used now and also as he gets older. For now, my plan was to use it as a combination coffee table/play table (with the short legs) in my family room. I thought that I would put the chairs at each end of the table and keep them pushed under the table when not in use. I was SO disappointed to find that the chairs cannot even be used with the table when the shorter legs are on it (see my picture). I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. What a hassle to send it back! I can't believe that the table and chairs are sold as a set, but can't be used together. The manufacturer needs to either offer an adjustable chair or at the very least a shorter chair that could also be purchased.

This is perfect for the grand kids. It was easy to put together. The only bad thing, which im sure doesnt happen often, is that on one of the chairs they sent 2 of the same legs, which didnt work. However, customer service was able to accommodate me and is helping with the problem and getting the right part sent out to me. (so far so good)

We absolutely love the Espresso Classic Playtime table and 4 chair set. It is actually well made and assembly was straight forward. I put everything together myself. My only negative is that one front leg on each chair is minimally shorter, which would make the table wobble slightly if placed on a wood floor, but our set is placed on carpet so we don't feel a wobble. To be safe I purchased some simple felt scratch pads and placed one pad under the one short leg of each chair and the chairs now sit perfectly on hard wood too.

BTW, my 2.5 year old son was so happy when he saw the set on X-mas morning. He is average height and his feet touch the ground with no problem. Best of all, I am certain that he will be able to use this set into grade school. I was concerned that the open shelving would be an eye sore in the living room but I barely notice it. Additionally, my son loves to place his stacked puzzles in the slots. Everyone who visits admires and loves the set as much as we do.

          I was looking for a train table for my 2 toddler sons. I chose this set for its versatility and because it will be years before the boys outgrow it. This table will blend with any furniture, unlike most conventional train tables - it really could pass for a coffee table. The pieces (table, chairs, storage cart) are made of solid wood and will stand up to wear and tear better than activity tables made of MDF. It comes with a set of longer legs which will allow the table to grow with my kids and has lots of storage space. This was very easy to assemble. Great value!
